A tornado siren is the scariest sound to me. They’re testing them on campus right now. The season’s about to start. I think everyone knows what a tornado siren sounds like. It’s like an air raid siren. It whirrs up into one long sustained blaring note, a bullhorn that raises the hair on your neck.

I’m excited spring is almost here.
